Are you Stretched out?

Dear Dancer,

Are you stretched out? This coming Wednesday I will start a stretch class at my dance studio in Jacksonville, Fl.  When dancers and other athletes begin to practice the first thing that they do is stretch the body.  It is important to stretch because we must make sure there is fluidity and flexibility in the muscles. Additionally, stretching ensures the joints are conditioned to protect from injury. I know a number of dancers and athletes with injuries today whose hurts could have been prevented provided they took time to prepare themselves through stretching and warm-ups before they began vigorous movements.

As I began to put plans down for this stretch session, the Lord started to instruct me concerning our stretched lives as dancers. In Ezekiel 36:26 God says, …I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Please keep in mind that flesh is more flexible than stone. Why does God need to give us a heart of Flesh? It is because when our hearts are hardened, it’s difficult to receive instructions for the stretching.  God knows we need to stretch.  The stretching is expedient for our race if we are going to obtain the price of the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus. There are countless passages in the Bible that prove to us the importance of us stretching beforehand.  The stretch brings us to a place of readiness; a place that we can truly say that we are ready for the Master’s use. If we are not stretched out, we will easily become injured.   (I will continue this conversation next blog)

May your life be filled with laughter and dance!

Dance Devotions

Dear Dancer,
In Amos 7:7 the word of God says, “Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.” In my message, ‘Building the Dance’, I wanted to give foundational encouragement to dancers as they are preparing with fasting & prayer, writing vision and then establishing what God has planned for the dance. As dancers for the Lord we uphold our purpose, measure our church/ physical bodies and examine our hearts according to the plumbline of His Holy Scriptures. Have you studied the Bible enough to see messages repeated time and time again? It may be obvious that God wanted us to check and re-check our hearts to His plumbline! Throughout Jesus’ ministry he spoke to people in stories relative to their daily lives and commonly regarding building/ constructing. So I ask you, what season are you in, Dancer? Is this a building or construction season for you? Personally, physically, in your career, education, relationship with God or others and maybe in your dance?

Dancers write to ask me, “How can I create the vision?” or “How can I hear the voice of God?” and you will always receive a response directing us back to study God’s word as we must open and dig in to measure, construct and create in our lives. I don’t wish to keep you long, however, I want to guide you towards another foundation in building and constructing. The carpenter says, “Measure twice and cut once!” Do you know what this means? Measure, then measure again! Check and re-check! With all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7 KJV). Hear counsel (Proverbs 19:20 KJV). Study to shew thyself approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). I would love to hear from you and counsel you or simply hear about the exciting building in your dance! You can call me at the studio if you’d like to set a time to visit and possibly dance together, email me, or message me on Facebook.

There is EXCITEMENT in building, are you excited? May your life be filled with laughter and dance,

Dancer Don’t Freeze and Die

Good morning Dancer,

What is the spiritual temperature of your dance? Over the course of the past several days, the weather has been pretty cold here in Florida. This year the weather has been at an extreme. We are living in a time where the spiritual atmosphere is quite cold. I would like to make a connection with the days that we are living in and the climate of its atmosphere. My point is to pay attention to God’s prophetic time clock and our surroundings. We must be dancers that are like the sons of Issachar. They knew the times. Dancers must be aware because we are an important part. We are living in a time that apostle Paul called, perilous in 2 Timothy 3:1.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 says,  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  HAVING A FORM OF GODLINESS, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

As I sat here in my home office, I looked at my left and saw about 5 plants that I brought in from the extreme cold weather. I brought them in because they were dying outside in the cold. Their leaves and flowers were withered. They were drooped down. They were about to dry out completely and die. I brought them into the house where this atmosphere can revive them again. I also made a mixture of Epsom salt and water to water them. The Epsom salt will help bring life back to them.

It dawned on me that the natural weather at this time is like the spiritual weather of the days that we are living in. It is up to us to get in a place with the right atmosphere. We must clothe ourselves for this weather (weather of the world) that we are exposed to during this end time. We should not allow ourselves to become frozen or withered and limp. We must water ourselves with the Spirit of God.

Psalms 1 says:  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.   But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither;

Dancer, what is your spiritual temperature right now? Have you allowed the coldness of this world to wither you away? Are you planted by the rivers of water or are you parched? Quench your thirst with the Living Water!

DFTEH Dance Studio

Good morning dancers,

I thank God for His provision. Where He guides, He provides. The Lord has asked us to present our bodies to Him holy and acceptable. He said it’s our service unto Him. In about 2 weeks I will be ministering in dance at an event here in Jacksonville and the Lord is inspiring me to dance to the song “Fill Me Up God”.  It is His desire to fill us with His Spirit that we may release His glory in the earth. This song is obviously a song of surrender and presenting of self. Where God guides, He provides.

If God has called you to be a dancer then you must present your body so that He may fill you up. I am teaching a 7 session course right now called ‘The Dancer’s Body, God’s Instrument in Motion’. This class helps the dancer to be mindful of her body by relating scriptures to the body. It is designed that the dancer may be aware of her vessel as an instrument in God’s hand as she or he dances. God has provided the wisdom in His scriptures so that the dancer can dance in revelation, power and authority to bring forth a harvest. Where God guides, He provides.

In the city of Jacksonville Florida, the Lord has provided a dance studio for the equipping of the dancers for this end time harvest. It is called Harvest Dance School. We have a mission. This school is like the school of the prophets in the old testament. It is a TRAINING CENTER; a place of training for God’s dancers.  In Isaiah 41:15 God says I will make of you a sharp threshing instrument having teeth. As a dancer in the kingdom of God, we must be an instrument and sharp. Part of that comes as we educate and equip ourselves which will Empower us to dance purposely. This studio is a DANCE SCHOOL. It’s a place of gathering to glean knowledge for empowerment. Knowledge is power.  Lack of knowledge weakens your dance, brings you to shame and eventually you are destroyed. This wisdom is found in Hosea. God says in Hosea 4:6 (My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.) God wants us to glean knowledge. In 2 Timothy 2:15 Apostle Paul instructs us (Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.)

This building is also here to UNITE God’s dancers in the city of Jacksonville. No matter what denomination or Christian Church they are from it is the Father’s Heart that we Unite so that we can have a powerful released through our dance. There’s power in unity. Psalm 133 says that it is good and pleasant for us to dwell in unity. According to Leviticus 26:8 and Deuteronomy 32:30 there is power in number for the battle.

May your life be filled with laughter and dance!

Dance Devotions

Dancers,

The purpose of today’s blog is so that you are not going with the flow of what you’ve always done, only to miss God’s heart for you.  This revelation will carry you for the rest of your life. If you can get a hold of this, your dance, your worship, and your prayers will never be the same.

Last week’s Dance devotional blog was about “the new” as we entered the new year. Each new year what comes naturally to us is to make ministry resolutions, do-overs, new goals, new starts, and new Beginnings for our lives and our dance ministries. I myself have found myself making a few resolutions to better my life as well as my service unto the Lord. If you are reading this blog, it tells me, that you also care about your ministry lives; your service unto the Lord. Since you care about what you do for God, I want to share a revelation with you for this new year as you proceed with your resolutions. There is a possibility that you may change your course after reading this.

I usually teach that worship dance is the foundation of all other types of dances in the kingdom of God. My explanation for this is simply that unless you know God (keep in mind true worship dance takes place in a meeting with God) you cannot praise Him, war by His authority, prophesy His Word, intercede etc. effectively in the dance. A kingdom dancer can only dance from the contract of the kingdom in order to carry authority, otherwise, there is no power; no harvest.

Therefore, there is a truth; a revelation that we may want to consider before we move forward with our resolutions this year.  It’s good at times to stop and get understanding.  Proverbs 4:7 reads, ‘…… with all thy getting get understanding.’  We find this amazing revelation in the conversation between the Master and Peter in Matthew 16:13-18

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?    14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.   15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?   16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.   17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.   18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

This amazing nugget is this:  When we tell God who He is, He tells us who we are.  When we get the revelation of who God is, He gives us the revelation of who we are in the kingdom. If you want to know who you are as a dancer, get a revelation of God and His heart for the dance.

Now, this may seem light, but in fact, it is quite weighty. As Jesus asked the disciples who He was they all had an answer from what they heard, but Peter got it. Peter caught a glimpse of the Messiah and when he uttered who Jesus was, Jesus turned back around and told Peter who Peter was IN THE KINGDOM. One thing you must realize is that Jesus told Peter that he did not get this revelation from the earth, but from the Spirit. Wow!!  This means we must get in the presence of God so we can hear our identity and only then should we proceed with resolutions. Why? Because we don’t want to walk in an identity that God hasn’t revealed to us. God is able to tell us who we are, but we must first acknowledge who He is.

Dancers, Seek ye first the kingdom, so you can dance in the kingdom!!!

May your life be filled with laughter and dance!

Dance Devotions

Dear Dancer,
Happy New Year! I am ready and prepared for the new thing God has promised to do in 2018, are you ready? I want to discuss with you today about this word “new” and what a powerful word it is within God’s kingdom. He has given us direction in His Holy Scriptures to be a new man or new creation in Christ Jesus, we have new life, a new self, even a new testament or new law in Christ Jesus. I encourage you to take time with God to study this word further! My focus today is found in Psalm 149 where we are to sing unto the Lord a new song. The psalmist is encouraging a praise of victory, rejoicing joyfully in the Lord with dancing. Let us begin our new year with a new song, a new dance, a joyful victorious dance in advance of anything that might come against us in 2018. For we know the battle is the Lord’s and He is victorious! So I ask you, why wait for a new dance? Begin today! Why wait for a “holiday” dance, theme dance, an invitation to dance or a catchy praise song? Begin today! Use your heart, your spiritual eyes and ears to seek Him, catch the new sound, the new song and the new dance. Can you hear it, don’t you see it? Will you take this new day to dance before the Lord with me?
~Rev. Lucie
Psalm 149
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

Dance Devotions

Many of you are dancing to song’s of the birth of our Messiah, Jesus this Christmas season. In Luke 1:53 KJV Mary’s song says, “He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.” I am in prayer for you dancer, are you hungry for the God breathed choreography of heaven, hungry for the move of Holy Spirit as a result of your dance? Do you hunger for this to birth in your personal time of worship? We need regular attention to these reflections in our dance! I have danced before thousands, yet my favorite dance and the dance that I hunger for is before the King alone. You must master dancing alone before God. Only then can you minister to thousands with His very heart.
A few verses earlier, Mary’s song refers to humbling herself before God. Humble yourself before Him, recognizing how great He is and no matter the heights of your leaps they will dull in comparison to His greatness! Our God, El Shaddai, God’s very presence is magnificence. I can appreciate this as a dancer; I can remember humbly falling before Him in worship. So dancer, I leave you with this encouragement to humble yourself, to fall and bow low before the King, to hunger for His good things in this Christmas season and every day in worship. Then He will send you full, He will set your feet to dance His promise of Jesus!
If you are enjoying reading my weekly blog for dancers, please leave me a comment and share with another dancer!~Rev. Lucie
