For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
                                                              Rom 8:14 ( AMP)

I love the Amplified version of this scripture. It teaches us that the Holy spirit does not force Himself on us.  We have to allow ourselves to be led by Him. The bible says that God is not a respecter of person, the Holy Spirit will not refuse us if we genuinely ask Him to lead us.

The most important thing we should know as Christians if we want to be led by the Holy Spirit, is knowing Him, knowing His Word and meditating on His Word.  Many Christians have the head knowledge of the Word of God, but not the true understanding of it, which only comes with the Help of the Holy Spirit. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]. John 16:13 (AMP)

Being led by the Holy Spirit requires knowledge and understanding of God through the Word. The other way we are also led by the Spirit of God, outside knowing the Word of God, is by listening to the still small voice in the inside of us, which comes from the spirit of God, because the bible tells us that His laws were written on our hearts. So we instinctively know the difference between right and wrong. ( Romans 2:15)

When I was young in my Faith i use to believe that having the Holy Spirit and being led by Him was an emotional thing, getting goose bumps and shaking all over my body. Now As i’m still growing in Christ and studying the Word of God for myself, the Holy Spirit is revealing to me more and more that is about my faith in Him and His Word. And that even if missed the mark, He counsels me through the Word, how to get back on track.

As dance ministers we are not just dancers for fun or show, but we deliver His word and we preach through dancing. That is why we cannot dance if we do not know His word, because knowing His word is knowing Him, is having a relationship with Him. When we yield to Him, dissect His word, not only for knowledge, but for His word to come alive in us, we will dance  His dances through His spirit, even if we don’t feel the “chills”, we will deliver what is in us and that is His word.

So I encourage all of you  who earnestly wants to be led by the Holy Spirit to go deeper in the word, meditate, submit to Him and He will do it!
